HERE WE GO AGAIN AN EMPTY COMMISSION SEAT IN NBV

 North Bay Village has  a history of manipulative, back door politics. Many of our elections have been won by incumbents who were appointed and not elected to the commission seat. It's  painfully obvious that an incumbent has the upper hand in an election. 

We are again faced with a commission seat being vacated before its completion date. It's time we break this cycle and allow the Treasure Island Commission Seat to remain empty until election time to allow a fair election for the candidates that come forward. It's time for North Bay Village to break the cycle of ugly political manipulation. Let the Treasure Island next commissioner be elected not appointed.

GUNS AND VIOLENCE

All the politicians are coming out of the wood work! Where are these opportunistic politician on an every day basis, where? 

Gun violence and violence in general   is a growing problem in America. We can agree that it is a different world today. People in general feel a lot less safer today than ever before. Movie theaters, schools, highways and malls are definitely areas of increased risk.  This problem is intertwined with many factors that can make someone unstable enough to lose it altogether!

We must look into all the increased and excessive  bloody violence on TV and video games making our children and young adults callus to violence. In many cases feeding into borderline personality disorders and other mental illnesses.

The regularity to these exposure makes many accept  violence as an answer to their frustrating and mental problems.  Definitely we need to recognize and identify those at increase risk for mental illnesses earlier.  Accessibility  to weapons is so readily possible today that just about anyone can get their hands on assault weapons never used before for protection, hunting and/or recreation.  We should agree that proper screening can be helpful. It just makes common sense.  There has to be a happy medium to gun accessibility control without upsetting those who embrace the  second amendment.

We should work together and look at every possible combination  including better screening to obtain a fire arm.  The immensity of this problem will require more than a single solution to prevent these senseless crimes from happening over and over again. Flabbergasted beyond comprehension that we can no longer find common ground  amongst opposing party members and citizens in America.

Dirty World of Politics

Heaven forbid you say something negative against an elected federal , state, county or local official!! These prima-donnas and their supporting staff or endorsing colleagues pounce on you like a lion after its prey. 

It's like " how dare you say something negative about this perfect  human being whose  sole purpose is to make sure federal, state, county or local Government is in perfect running order! Hey if you believe that! I got a bridge to sell you. Better yet take off your political or party blinders off and look around you and make your own conscious and realistic  conclusion.

I have less than zero aspiration to ever getting into the dirty, back stabbing, corrupt and insane world of politics again! Once was more than enough!  An unforgettable fiasco full of surprising crap from these permanent professional politicians. Have to say not all were morons just most. I will refrain from naming those that I think are trust wordy. I am sure you have your own list. 

What are these insensitive morons afraid of or protecting? I ask because is like they need to sell  their souls to the devil to become a politician. Now because elections are around the corner they are all over face book and other forms of media trying to impress us for our vote. 

I guess that that's the reason why more than 70 % of the citizens have an unfavorable view of these life long professional politicians.  Their reputations have been reduced to equal or less  than snake oil sales man!  Oh wait let me be politically correct: " snake oil sales person!" Term limits across the board would be a possible solution? This way to climb the latter in politics they have to work and earn it. Campaign reform and PAC reform needs to take place before our country is totally destroyed by self interest groups.

Our beaches are dirty, our streets are a mess, our sea water is been polluted, our infrastructure is crumbling, our streets are filled with crime, cost of living is rising to unaffordable levels, taxes have gone up and these incumbent professional politician act as if they just discover it. Incredible that we can be so gullible with their promises and claims. When a problem exist for more than 20 years someone is not paying attention. Please let's see more action with results than speeches!

Mothers,Grandmothers,Godmothers, that Aunt or person that acts like a mother to you are especial human beings. They constantly give of themselves without expecting anything back. If you are blessed to still have her around give her a big hug and let her know you love her.  If you no longer have her around take some time to think about her and hug her spiritually in a loving way. Happy Mothers Day each and every day. 

Enough

I am having problems with  democrats and republicans preaching and telling me what to think or how to think. Everything based on absolute extremes, zero common sense.

It's about time they realize we are not stupid. We can think on our own. Voting has become like which team are you on. What is in it for me. How can I get away with it. Here is an idea vote for the person that you think  is the best candidate for our country or state.

 It does not matter if they are white, black, male, female, gay, straight or transgender, old or young. What does count is integrity, transparency and bipartisanship with an ability to communicate and negotiate on both sides of the isle. It's that so much to ask? 

Additionally a criminal  is a criminal wether he wears a uniform or not. Wether he wears a suit or an overall. Wether he is rich or poor. Wether he is black or white. Wether he is gay or straight of any religion, believe or ethnic background.  Let's not get that confused. 

Many of our present and pass politicians have milked our country long enough. It's about time they start working for the middle class or get out. Let's think American and what's good for the USA.  

Nothing to do with socialism or communism all to do about saving the middle class. The backbone of our country. We destroy the middle class and we will see democracy at its worse. What are you going to do? I urge you to give it some thought.

Parking Anyone?

I believe that generally, development is a good thing for a community. We preplan, plan and re-plan. Variances are granted and plans are approved. 

North Bay Village is no different than other small municipalities with limited prime real estate in demand.

The biggest problems with North Bay Village, in my opinion, are:

1) Follow through post construction. For example recall KLA school promising and committed to not causing parking or traffic flow problems. That in fact they had enough parking for staff and their needs. What is happening today? In my block alone four cars park daily that belongs to KLA staff, why? No follow through.

I brought this to the attention of our Village Manager Frank Rollason and immediately said " well you know that parking is public" I reply I know but KLA made the commitment and promise and they should live-up to it, no? Which he replied " I will look into it". 

2)It appears that many of the developers make promises and don't live up to them! Parking, water access and resident amenities. Harbor Island present condos are not keeping their promises  and there is no follow though, no accountability and no penalties. Zero, so why should they keep their promises and commitments?

3) P and Z for example has had members come and go but for years with the same chair, why? 

4) Variances for bigger and taller buildings granted with the same promises making the parking problem bigger and bigger. Maybe that's the plan to displace the smaller condos and forcing them to sell! Could that be possible? 

5) I will not be able to attend the parking workshop on Saturday February 21 at the TIES auditorium. 

Please don't allow ideas that require removal of side walks, lifts or car elevators, temporary plans or ideas that don't offer permanent solutions.
