North Bay Village Police Department

I read Mr. Kevin Vericker’s piece on “It’s time for the police to step up” of November 28, 2012. Mr. Vericker makes the comparison of the importance of response time vs. actual effect on public safety. I respect Mr. Vericker and usually he can back up with facts what he writes about. However he happens to be way off base on this one. In my humble opinion, and in the spirit of always putting North Bay Village first, I have seen how well our police department works.

 I am satisfied with Police Chief Robert Daniels performance and the job our police force does in keeping our streets safe.  Law enforcement is a difficult job and at times a thankless job. This brave men and women risk their lives on a daily basis to keep us safe. Join me in applauding Chief Daniels and his police staff on a job well done.

If there is one area that we must continue to look at is the cost to run our police department. We must all work together to have our police force continue to do an excellent job but on a smaller budget. This is critical if we are to keep our budget solvent for the future. It will come a time, if not already,  where we simply will not be able to afford it. In today’s economy we all have to make adjustments and these adjustments can be painful at times. Great leaders think about ideas and ways to make things better.

Commission Meeting

Farmers' Market continues in North Bay Village on Fridays for the month of November from 2 to 7 pm ...Help make it a sucess and stop by and peruse for the products that you like.

Commission Meetings

At the next commission meeting in December is time to get serious with NBV matters, advisory board members will be appointed Let’s get to work. Those who volunteer please make it a priority to attend the meetings on a regular basis. We have much work to be done. "PUTTING NORTH BAY VILLAGE FIRST".

Commission Meetings at North Bay Village

Commission meetings that are held at 5pm preclude many of our North Bay Village residents from participating. Regularly scheduled meeting of November 13, 2012 cancelled, why? Hopefully is not a preliminary sign of the new commission work ethics? We have a lot of important issues at hand and cannot afford delays in addressing them.

VOTE OF CONFIDENCE

My immense gratitude and respect for those who voted for me although I had withdrawn from the commissioner’s race for the At Large Commissioner Seat for North Bay Village.  I am committed to your vote of confidence and will continue to work tirelessly to assure that our elected officials bring our beautiful village forward. I am extremely proud of those who endured long lines and waiting hours to vote! GOD BLESS AMERICA!

I pledge to continue attending commission meetings and will be involved in various community boards. It’s important to attend our commission meetings in order to be informed of the issues that may affect the quality of life in our beautiful now official North Bay Village.

The elections are over, it’s time to get back to work with great resolve and focus to the matters concerning North Bay Village. Speaking of which our elected officials need to be sworn in so that they may get to work!  

Tackling plans such as erecting a new multipurpose building to house the city hall, police department, fire department and hopefully a youth center along with a senior citizen center as soon as possible. Important matters such as beautifying the water processing plant area; the police department budget and trimming our expenses for the next fiscal year (2014) are at hand.  Let us not waste any precious time “PUTTING NORTH BAY VILLAGE FIRST” the time to get to work is now!!!
