Enough

I am having problems with  democrats and republicans preaching and telling me what to think or how to think. Everything based on absolute extremes, zero common sense.

It's about time they realize we are not stupid. We can think on our own. Voting has become like which team are you on. What is in it for me. How can I get away with it. Here is an idea vote for the person that you think  is the best candidate for our country or state.

It does not matter if they are white, black, male, female, gay, straight or transgender, old or young. What does count is integrity, transparency and bipartisanship with an ability to communicate and negotiate on both sides of the isle. It's that so much to ask?

Additionally a criminal  is a criminal wether he wears a uniform or not. Wether he wears a suit or an overall. Wether he is rich or poor. Wether he is black or white. Wether he is gay or straight of any religion, believe or ethnic background.  Let's not get that confused.

Many of our present and pass politicians have milked our country long enough. It's about time they start working for the middle class or get out. Let's think American and what's good for the USA.

Nothing to do with socialism or communism all to do about saving the middle class. The backbone of our country. We destroy the middle class and we will see democracy at its worse. What are you going to do? I urge you to give it some thought.

Simply my opinion

Parking Anyone?

I believe that generally, development is a good thing for a community. We preplan, plan and re-plan. Variances are granted and plans are approved.

North Bay Village is no different than other small municipalities with limited prime real estate in demand.

The biggest problems with North Bay Village, in my opinion, are:

1) Follow through post construction. For example recall KLA school promising and committed to not causing parking or traffic flow problems. That in fact they had enough parking for staff and their needs. What is happening today? In my block alone four cars park daily that belongs to KLA staff, why? No follow through.

I brought this to the attention of our Village Manager Frank Rollason and immediately said " well you know that parking is public" I reply I know but KLA made the commitment and promise and they should live-up to it, no? Which he replied " I will look into it".

2)It appears that many of the developers make promises and don't live up to them! Parking, water access and resident amenities. Harbor Island present condos are not keeping their promises  and there is no follow though, no accountability and no penalties. Zero, so why should they keep their promises and commitments?

3) P and Z for example has had members come and go but for years with the same chair, why?

4) Variances for bigger and taller buildings granted with the same promises making the parking problem bigger and bigger. Maybe that's the plan to displace the smaller condos and forcing them to sell! Could that be possible?

5) I will not be able to attend the parking workshop on Saturday February 21 at the TIES auditorium.
Please don't allow ideas that require removal of side walks, lifts or car elevators, temporary plans or ideas that don't offer permanent solutions.

This journey does not end on November 4th rather it begins on November 5th. Please make your vote count.

Family, friends, neighbors and residents, five more days left to vote.  It has been an exhilarating and wonderful experience sharing, listening and talking with you about the problems we are facing in North Bay Village. Our neglected infrastructure is in dire need of replacement. Our streets are in need of beautification and cleanliness on a more consistent manner. The increasing crime rate in our serene and beautiful Village needs to be dealt with. The lack of accountability with our resources although our taxes have gone up 35% in the last two years needs to be addressed.

This journey does not end on November 4th rather it begins on November 5th. Please make your vote count.

I am committed to rolling up my sleeves and getting to work from day one.  I will not take your vote and most important your support for granted. Our streets will be cleaner and safer. We will have transparency and accountability on how we spend every dollar. Whether you are voting early or on November 4th I ask you to punch # 116 for Mario Garcia, your next North Bay Village Commissioner At Large.

Thank You.

STANDING UP FOR EQUALITY!

State Representative Richardson, we too are your supporters and when you were running, I have heard Mr. Kevin Vericker speak very highly of you and campaign strongly in your favor. I can appreciate your loyalty and your support for the Mayor. What I cannot understand is your indifference on this highly offensive mailer and discard it as silliness! Actually, I myself thought is was kind of funny and creative until I turned it over and saw the bigoted accusations! Please let's get one thing clear I am no one's puppet! I remain committed to the issues affecting us all!  I will continue to fight shoulder to shoulder for equality.
I will work hard to represent all of our residents. I will  be relentless towards cleaner and safer streets. I will make sure to make everyone accountable and transparent, no excuses.
